Warm the Floor with Rugs
Rugs are great for making a conservatory feel more like a real room in your home. They add something soft to walk on, and they save you a lot of money on needing to put any carpet down in there! Make sure you place one or two on your conservatory floor to help balance the room out, give it more colour, and ensure it doesn’t sound too echoey in there. You could even hang one on a wall to help close off the space in a satisfying way.
Hang Some Shutters
Your conservatory is mostly made out of glass, and that can get baking hot when the sun is at full shine! So you’re going to need to get those windows covered, such as with some Window Shutters. Curtains can also be a good pick here, depending on your tastes. However, it’s nice to have textures in the conservatory, as otherwise it can be quite a plain, stone surface room, but you want something on the windows that’ll protect them from the harsh UV rays. They’re also easier to pull to the right height!
Make Good Use of Tactile Furniture
Tactile furniture is furniture that feels interesting to the touch, such as rattan and/or other woven items. You can pick such sets up from any good home decor shop; they’ll help to add a bit of texture to your conservatory, and provide a unique experience you can’t find anywhere else in your home. A sofa and a couple armchairs are usually the best composition to invest in here, but you can also find coffee tables and sideboards made of the same materials.
Don’t Forget About the Scent!
And finally, once you’ve bought all of the decor above, it’s time to focus on the general atmosphere itself. And what sparks a good mood in the air more than a lovely smell? Bread baking in the oven, freshly brewed coffee, an orange straight from the tree, mowed grass just outside the window – these are all great scents you can recreate in your conservatory. Just put some candles around or plug in an air freshener or two and you’ll find yourself spending way more time than you ever thought in your home’s new extension.
