January's Tea Time Treats theme is Sweet Pastries and Breads, this month Karen over at Lavender and Lovage is hosting and Kate at What Kate Baked has earned herself a rest.
I blogged briefly about my Iced Buns during National Baking Week last year. I thought they were so amazing they deserved resurrecting for the Tea Time Treats Challenge this month.
I used the Paul Hollywood recipe as featured on the BBC's Great British Bake Off, I mean who wouldn't. I am afraid though that there is nothing dainty and ladylike about these big buns. I was worried about not having the perfect kneading technique, bread making is not something I have tackled. But my worries were unfounded, they were as light as a feather and could not have baked them any better.
The next time I make these it will be without the jam and cream, that way with just the icing on the top they will be reasonably low in fat.
